Opportunity to Thrive

Being a New Dad is a major opportunity to Thrive.

For many of us, given the challenges, we switch into a mode where we are trying to survive.

In early fatherhood, we are asked to go beyond whatever we thought was possible for our us physically, mentally, and emotionally. This presents a unique opportunity.

We can switch into automatic and survive (go through the motions). Or we can grab hold and seek how to optimally thrive and show up.

Ultimately what we choose will have large consequences in our parenting. How we show up will create the conditions in which our children can grow and thrive. Obviously we want to be pouring Miracle Gro into our children’s development in a positive sense. A dad who is on fire about his life and living with purpose is a huge contribution toward creating optimal conditions for his child to thrive.

It is up to us. It’s not about being perfect. It is about intention, effort, and staying with the process.
